so sometime last year on that site i sumbitted a short story to an agent then realized, crap, that was the one that didnt accept online stuff, come to realize that out of all the ones i could have screwed up on it had to be the submission of a FRICKEN HUUUGE agent in the literary world. i could just puke i never even heard back, now im freaking out because i was so stupid and im afraid she will remember my name and that my chances of being published someday are going to be zilch. or at the least this agent will just hate me or something if i ever send something in (and do it right)

They receive hundreds of submissions every week. I doubt your name is on some list in their office, and I doubt you are the only one to have made that mistake. Many people submit work to agents that don’t even read their type of story because they don’t research the requirements. Calm down, and keep submitting. Good luck.

Usually I am best left to my own devices but when I have exhausted my resources and feel as though I have hit a brick wall, a class could help. Have I reached that? No. But in recent months I can say I have been pretty darn close and with no work and no opportunities beyond my own free writes flexing my creative muscle just isn’t happening. Free writes are all well and good but a little structure will re-train me to write a specific topic with a specific length.
Oh, how I wish I had a stronger network and the chance to get out more. Besides my photography I need to find a new hobby.
