Twice now, I have tried to download webcasts of operas that I have bought from Bel Canto Society,,,,,,and, yes, I realize it is my own computer knowledge inadequacy causing the problem(s)…..but, I CAN NOT get it right….doesn’t work. Any suggestions for poor ‘ole me? LOL!

A live Webcast is very similar to a live broadcast on your TV. The only difference being that a live Webcast is broadcasted over the Internet. To play a live broadcast you will need to make sure that your computer is configured properly to view the online media. You will need to download and install the appropriate Windows Media, ShoutCast, Real or Quicktime player.

I Have heard on amazon reviews and it said 2010 version was not very helpful so then i went to 2009 verison and it was much better reviews it also said about 2010 verison how its all canadian and it only shows email and email nothing else

The 2009 edition will have information that’s already a year out of date, whereas the 2010 version will have information that’s more recent. It’s up to you which one you buy, but if you get the 2009 version, just be aware that it will contain information that’s no longer correct – there will be agents and publishers who are no longer in business, or have changed their submissions policy, or have moved offices, etc.

In the UK, the equivalent publication is already on its 2011 edition, so you might want to check that the 2010 version isn’t about to be superceded by the 2011 edition in the next couple of months anyway.
