Is the social-evolutionary environment of the market like a religion? Or is the concept of an entity above of the market intervening to save us from outselves like a religion?
Are the businesses building headquarters and mansions more like cult temples, or are the monuments in DC and the state capitols more like cult temples?
As much as hardcore statists love to paint Ayn Rand and Milton Friedman as religious figures to free marketers, most libertarians listen to a variety of writers and popularizers of libertarian ideas.
Compare this to the somber veneration of the constitution and federalist papers, and how instead of trying to argue economic truth in it’s own right, they try to interpret what the founding “fathers” really meant.
